Lindsay was experiencing homelessness and depression. Having her dog Daisy by her side made life so much better. But when Daisy went into heat, Lindsay knew the only fair thing to do for her dog was get her spayed. The problem was, even though she knew it was important, Lindsay just had no way to pay for the spay surgery right away. When she discovered PAWS, she turned to the organization for help.
PAWS contributed $350 toward the spay surgery. They also stood up for Lindsay (and Daisy) when she received pushback from her veterinary clinic. This support, both monetary and moral, helped Lindsay to do what she knew was right for her dog and spared her a lot of stress.
Daisy is now healthy, spayed, and no longer suffering through her heat. Lindsay doesn’t have to worry about caring for an unwanted litter of puppies, either. Lindsay is grateful to PAWS for this chance to enjoy having Daisy with her through challenging times.
