Breeding dog saved – thanks to Angela and PAWS!
Rosie, a sweet little maltese bichon mix, faced a challenging start to life, born into a home where her primary purpose was to breed for profit. When her owner decided to seek a new home for Rosie, Angela stumbled upon the online post and felt an immediate calling to rescue this precious pup.
With Angela’s loving embrace and a new, welcoming home, Rosie’s life was about to take a turn for the better. However, a visit to the vet revealed a series of medical issues.
Rosie not only needed spaying but also required surgery to remove suspicious mammary tumors. These tumors, highly preventable through early spaying, were sadly a consequence of Rosie’s past life as a breeding dog.
To add to the challenge, Rosie also developed multiple infected lumps, leading to significant vet bills even before surgery. Angela’s financial situation was already strained due to a sudden change in employment. Overwhelmed, Angela reached out to PAWS for assistance. Fortunately we were able to help cover a portion of the significant medical expenses.
During her hospital stay for the surgery, Rosie’s charming personality captured everyone’s heart at the vet clinic. Three days post-operation, they happily reported that Rosie’s tumor was benign!
Now, weeks after the procedure, Rosie thrives in a loving home, her favorite spot nestled on Angela’s lap. She adores cuddles and showers Angela with affectionate licks whenever held in her arms. She’s living her best doggie life, and Angela couldn’t be happier.
Angela graciously shared Rosie’s journey in detail, and here are her own words:
“…Rosie is still facing her future dental surgery and she’s still dealing with the recurrence of her infection… but she’s content and happy and so after this long standing ordeal, this Doggie Momma too is happy. My deepest thanks and gratitude are extended to PAWS and others who have stepped up, for the role they played in getting Rosie to where she is today… From the moment I received my first email response from them, it was clear to me that they cared. Sometimes that little bit of knowledge can mean just as much as a financial contribution and thankfully they did both.”
