WHY Mobile Clinics?

In the summer of 2025, our London community faced an urgent and heartbreaking situation. A sudden outbreak of Canine Parvovirus (CPV) in a local housing complex infected at least eight dogs in just nine days. Tragically, six of those pets did not survive.

This outbreak revealed a critical gap in our community: many pet owners lacked access to timely veterinary care, vaccinations, and diagnostic testing. Cost barriers, transportation challenges, and limited access to clinics left pets vulnerable – and put public and animal health at risk.

PAWS Canada responded immediately, mobilizing veterinary professionals to deliver an emergency, on-site pop-up clinic that provided testing and treatment to help contain the outbreak. While this rapid response helped address the immediate crisis, it also made one thing clear: too many families in London continue to struggle to access basic, preventive veterinary care.

Introducing PAWS on the Go!

A proactive, community-based Mobile Veterinary Clinic Initiative designed to prevent outbreaks before they happen.

Our mobile clinics:

  • Bring care directly to high density, low income housing communities or encampments
  • Provide low-cost vaccinations and wellness exams directly to underserved neighbourhoods where risk of transmission is high and vaccination rates are low
  • Build long-term trust and connections between families and accessible veterinary care

Currently operating exclusively in London, Ontario, PAWS on the Go is designed to be scalable.
